The Scheme started in 1978 and has helped millions of disabled people and their families gain independence and freedom, with an overall customer satisfaction of 98%. Since then over 640,000 disabled people and their families across the UK are benefiting from the freedom and independence provided through the Motability Scheme.
The insurance, breakdown assistance, servicing and maintenance are all included in the price you pay. The scheme ensures everything is taken care of; all you have to do is add fuel and enjoy your brand new Ford Motability car. In addition, you’re entitled to a brand new car every 3 years; keeping you up to date with the latest models, trends and vehicle technology.
If you are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits (details available in our eligibility section) and have a minimum of 12 months left on your award, you are eligible to apply for the Motability Scheme. We will handle all the necessary arrangements with Motability Operations Ltd, leaving you to choose your preferred vehicle from our approved list.
The weekly allowance covers the cost of the lease, but depending on the vehicle you choose, you may have to pay an additional amount upfront. This is known as an Advance Payment and will need to be paid before you order the vehicle.
When you lease a car through the Motability Scheme the following is always included in the price:

To qualify for a vehicle from the Motability Scheme, you must first receive one of the following mobility allowances, and secondly, you should have a remaining award length of at least 12 months. It’s important to mention that the Attendance Allowance cannot be utilized for leasing a car through the Scheme.
