New Ford Transit Custom MS-RT

Who are MS-RT?

Petrol heads, performance fanatics and Transit fans will have already heard of and been aware of MS-RT for some time, based in South Wales they are a design led automotive engineering company specialising in Ford vehicles and born from 30 years of motor racing and rally experience. They’ve been customising bespoke vans for years, but now for the first time ever, Ford will be retailing a Transit Custom MS-RT from Transit Centre’s UK wide. This brings the perfect mix of the award winning reliable and best selling Transit Custom, combining it with the stunning looks and performance added by decades of MS-RT engineered experience.

What is the performance like?

The Custom MS-RT has Ford’s EcoBlue 2.0 litre TDCi engine that gives 405Nm of torque meaning it’s highly capable for towing and moving heavy loads. It delivers an impressive 170PS of power with the choice of a 6 speed manual or automatic gearbox.  Eibach performance lowering springs improves handling and responsiveness, whilst providing the all-important payload capacity.

What about the exterior styling?

The differences are not subtle, with a full front bumper and grill replacement, wide body arch extensions, 18’’ exclusive anthracite OZ racing alloys with 103 XL Load rated Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 tyres, twin sports exhausts and MS-RT branding throughout; the MS-RT clearly stands out from the other Custom models including the impressive looking Sport model.

On top of this, there is the option of a 2 or 3 seat panel van, 5 seat double-cab-in-van and a 6 seat double-cab-in-van. There is the choice of short and long wheelbase mixed with either liftgate or twin back doors.

Is the interior any different?

The impressive exterior overhaul continues inside with MS-RT branding throughout on the floor mats and dash clocks, along with handcrafted nappa leather and suede seats, and a sports steering wheel with carbon fibre inlays. Alongside this special upgraded feel, you’ll have all of the other normal top spec Ford features such as the centre touchscreen display with Ford Sync, Sat Nav and the FordPass Connect Modem.
