There’s a reason the slogan for The All-New Ford Ranger Raptor is ‘not an ordinary pickup’. From the minute you step into the Raptor it is unlike any other vehicle, filled to the brim with advanced technologies to give you an immense driving experience. It is fair to say the Raptor is one of the most exciting Ford vehicles available.
Is the Raptor worth it?
As mentioned, the Raptor is like no other pickup. Standing at close to 80 inches, the Raptor towers over its other Ranger predecessors, with the New Ranger coming in around 52mm smaller, and also languishing in length and width.
You’re not just buying a vehicle that’s bigger than other Rangers though, what would be the point of the that? When it comes to the sheer power of the Raptor, you get a 2.0 litre, 4cyl twin-turbo diesel engine that brings with it 210bhp 500Nm of Torque. Not powerful enough for you? With a custom Fox suspension and coilover Watts Link rear setup, this Raptor isn’t to be taken lightly. The fact that it was tested out in the Australian outback has you driving like a ‘millionaire on-road’ according to Damien Ross, Chief Program Engineer of the Ranger Raptor for Ford.
What features does the Raptor have?
From the outside in, the Raptor will have you covered across all areas. Whether its collecting the children from school or driving over sand dunes, you can easily switch that tarmac for sandy terrain with the new Terrain Management System. The TMS packs an impressive six different modes, ranging from Mud and Sand Mode to Baja Mode – the latter of which gives an unprecedented off-road experience. For those weekends that you want to get away from the city rush and explore the world around you, the purpose-built off-road tyres means you are ready for any driving experience.
Aside from the unrivalled off-road adventures you’ll be having, the Raptor is stocked full of the best safety systems for both yourself and your comrades. Advanced Roll Stability Control and Electronic Stability Control covers all environments. There is also a built-in FordPass Connect modem as well as Ford SYNC 3 and integrated navigation.
