Arranging a Repair

The first thing to remember is that the choice of repairer is yours.  Although some insurers operate an ‘approved repairer scheme’, this is only advisory.  Whilst you may wish to take note of your insurer’s advice the final decision rests with you if it is your vehicle.

Naturally we will be delighted if you choose Fordthorne to carry out any work on your vehicle.  We will assign you a Personal Accident Repair Co-ordinator who will make everything as easy as possible.  In other words, we’ll do the work so you don’t have to worry

Getting an Estimate

Under the terms of most insurance policies, only one repair estimate is required.  If your insurer asks you to obtain more than one, you should point out that you do not wish to be put to this inconvenience.

Remember
· You have the right to choose who carries out repairs to your car
· In most cases you only need one estimate
· If your insurer gives you the go ahead to carry out the repair work, it does not automatically mean they have accepted your claim.

FORD ACCIDENT MANAGEMENT

Ford Accident Management is a free service for all Ford customers, whatever the age of their vehicle. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, Ford Accident Management will provide you with a free service from the time you have an accident to the moment you collect your repaired Ford.

• Recover your vehicle where it cannot be driven, free of charge
• Provide you with a free courtesy car – even if it’s not included in your insurance policy, even if you were at fault
• Liaise with your insurance company to process the claim and have repairs approved
• Complete your claim form
• Ensure your vehicle is repaired at a Ford Accident Repair Centre
